Hello All,

I just found this website yesterday and I think it is a wonderful thing. Since most people don't give their ages and I've only seen 1 other person in their 40s on the forum, I'm 49, I wasn't sure I wanted to post, but here I am. After reading several of the posts, I just wanted to say to younger people, there is someone out there with your condition that has had a similar experience, you're not alone. Since I'm 49, my terminology is a bit outdated. I wanted to give you a short history of my CAH. I had vaginal construction before I was 1 yr old, reconstruction at 3, scar tissue removal at 13 (so I could even have a period. My ped was very ahead of his time and the gyn that performed my first 2 surgeries was the best in my area (southern Indiana). My scar tissue was removed at IU Med Center in Indianapolis where I also was used in the teaching side of the hospital. I was poked, prodded, photographed and generally studied by dozens of interns, all with my parents and my permission. If it helped one doctor become better, GREAT. My mother salted my baby food and my formula. Even today with the amount of salt I eat, my serum sodium is 1 point below the norm range. I'm only 4' 10" tall and I currently weigh 150-160 depending on the day and what I eat. There is plenty more I can tell you about how I've dealt with my disease but I don't want you to get bored. I will be checking back daily so if you any questions please feel free to ask. Thanks again

Kelly
