Cortef vs. generic

Our insurance just changed and now charges much more for Cortef. They will charge me much less for the generic. I haven't spoken to the endo about this yet. Does anyone use generic hydrocortisone? Is there really a difference? Is it like using Motrin vs CVS brand ibuprofen?Beth
