Hi Snowflake,
I believe people ask out of genuine concern. Everyone that I chose to explain my son's condition to asks all the time about his health and his progress. And they are as glad as my family that he is growing so well. I don't get into details with certain people but I make it clear to everyone that he has a condition and please be careful when interacting with him as to not spread germs. Everyone respects my wishes as his mother. I don't mind explaining what he has if someone is sincerely curious. I believe we need to form a stronger awareness of this disease. Knowledge is power. If I had only known what CAH was when my son became ill. I think more education is needed throughout the medical profession. Imagine how many children have probably been lost to this and their families are none the wiser. This is a rare condition that needs more attention. I have no problem educating others. When they look puzzled, I give them the address to this website :-) And you will someone along the way who knows someone who is going thru the same thing. You are not alone and I know that gave me alot of comfort
