re: re: After-birth experiences

Hi, I'm not sure on the length of time before discharge as my daughter was not diagnosed till 2 weeks(before that we stayed in a private ward while they worked out what was wrong) but I did breastfeed for the first 4 months and my daughter completely refused milk or water or even baby juice with bsalt in, she used to throw up if we forced the issue so she had in from a syringe from the start. Sometimes it was hard and we had to give it very slowly but I can now honestly say that aged 16months she now likes it! Says "ta" when she sees me measuring it into the syringe then will walk over and open her mouth for it. So I think it depends on your baby and how it all feels at the time. Good luck, I didn't know it was possible to test for CAH before birth. It must all sound so confusing at the moment but you will quickly get used to it, the medicines are part of our routine now.
Anna
