re: re: Giving Meds to Infant

My daughter (19 months) has been taking her medicine--cortef & florinef--dissolved in a syringe with juice. Occasionally (ok, only twice) she has swallowed the cortef pill on her own, but it's easier to dissolve it. It tastes bad and she tries to spit it out.

As for being difficult, she very rarely but does sometimes put up a fuss about taking her medicines. She always seems to choose when we're out in public to fight with me about it. I practically have to get her in a headlock with one arm and shove it down her throat with the other. Of course I don't do that, it's just a description of how difficult she can be.

I think most parents here will tell you though, that while they may fight taking the meds, most kids will realize they don't feel well without them and will be more willing to take them.

Rebecca
