We have always used the magic cream for blood draws....Elamax. You can get it over the counter, ask the pharmacist thought sometimes it is in the back. It is a vasoconstrictor and really helps! My daughter doesn't even feel it and because of this she doesn't mind the blood draws at all, except that she misses a little school. We put a large teaspoonful on her inner elbow and then wrap her with saran wrap about a half an hour before the draw. We also follow up with a lollypop! Good luck, Julia
