Not to worry Nessie as I've wondered about the same thing.
Say for example one doesn't check how much cortisone they have and a hurricane comes in -yeah there is some warning but sometimes people forget or they think that hurricane isn't going to be the one that is really bad. But, everything shuts down for two weeks and now one has no medication or anywhere to fill it.
I live in a hurricane zone and stood in line for ice with a guy that needed to keep his diabetic med cold. Also, offices close early and that is when you need the script called in or something and it's always something like awesome bought hurricane supplies but forgot to get scrip and fill up the tank with gas leaving no cash for script until payday. As a kid I stopped taking the pred becuase I figured well then i don't have to see the endo and his students. They didn't ask me or seem to care that I stopped the med but were besides themselves that I actually had Simple Virilizing 11 -hydroxylase instead of 21 - they figured this out becuse my blood pressure was sky high.
