re: 16 yr old SWCAH daughter - menstrual cycle question Feb. 2nd, 2008 12:07am
I don't have CAH but when my period first started (many years ago!) they were very heavy and painful. This went on for many years until I started birth control pills and it was unbelievable how it made a difference. Less flow, for 4-5 days instead of 7, and no period pain. I can understand how you feel about putting your 16 year old daughter on birth control pills, I would probably feel exactly the same as you if it were one of my daughters. Consult with your doctors and see what they think.
