Karen, Give yourself and your daughter a big hug from me! How miserable that must be. My oldest (sswcah) is only 11 ( just shy of 12) and has not started although I think it's on it's way. I (non cah) started at 11 and my periods were heavy, long and painful. At 15 (I think) I was put on birth control, then it was constant so I would have no period. Neither helped and I was finally given Lupron Depot shots once a month. All of the medications were hard to take and the side effects not so good but definitely were better than what I was experiencing with my period. I was diagnosed with endometriosis and had several surgeries to remove the scarring it caused.
