Hi Hannele,

Regarding your getting pregnant question!

I haven't actually seen extensive figures of the corticosteroid dosages that classical CAH women who eventually achieve a pregnancy are on, but my impression is that better chances lie with the people who tend to be on a higher dose of corticosteroid and on florinef.

Having said this though - my CAH sister who has always been on Dex (and treated by different endos to me) never became pregnant even though she was on 0.5mgs daily of Dex. Myself who was meant to take Pred 7.5 mgs (but probably sometimes on lesser overall dosages due to my lesser compliance - more like 5mgs daily), also did not become pregnant.

Neither of us during those years were on florinef, which we probably should have been on.  Some recent research indicates that florinef can make a difference to the success of a CAH person achieving a pregnancy.
