Did you do the right thing?!!? Why on earth would you stay with someone who beats you up and splits your head open?!? Sure, he was drunk at the time, but he'll be drunk again some other time, and then who knows what could happen?
As far as it being hard on your daughter: it's a lot harder on your daughter to watch her Mom being beaten up (maybe he doesn't do it in front of her, but these things have a way of getting progressively worse .... he will, one day). She surely knows when you need staples in your head and a restraining order, that something is not right. What about when she gets older, and he starts hitting HER?!
You deserve so much better, Ang .... anyone does. Don't be fooled into thinking that he'll change, or that it "won't happen again" .... it will. Don't be fooled into think that you won't be able to find another relationship, or that you can't handle things on your own. You are stronger than you think. No man is worth the physical and emotional beating that this guy is giving you. Don't even think about it ...... RUN! And don't look back.
