Ang, I put my daughter's father out the very first time he pushed me after she was born. She was in my arms and she was 3 months old at the time. She AND I are better people for it getting him away from us.
See he was only like that when he was drunk. He managed to be good the entire pregnancy. I was kinda young, 16 years ago. I somehow thought he would change, grow up, or something. These people that abuse other people, have something wrong with them inside. They don't change, even if they want to, they eventually explode again. It's like a mental illness or something.
Your daughter will be healthier without him in her life. Mine is, she is wonderful and as about as normal as normal can get. I believe that if I had stayed with him, she would not be the confident well rounded girl that she is today. Her spirit is not broken, neither is mine....
Based on my hind sight 20/20.......you did the right thing dear.....
