People who have transplants are put on massive doses of steroids to prevent their body rejecting the new organ. There therefore would not be any point in a person with CAH having an adrenal gland transplant as they would have to take an excessive dose of steroids, whereas at the moment they only take a replacement dose, which is far better! They can take the adrenal glands out altogether but that too is a drastic option as it puts the patient at more risk of adrenal crisis. Thankfully CAH is treatable and as long as your little girl is under an endocrinologist who understands the condtion and ensures she is on the right dose of meds, there is no reason why she shouldn't lead a completely normal life.
