I am not asking her to be blind about the complications that CAH can bring. All I want for her to is keep some optimism during this difficult time. If you may want to read her post again, she has mentioned reading in the internet that "children with CAH don't have a chance." These are the kind of blogs/posts that I am asking her to stay away from. Not only are they untrue but they will not help her at all. Obviously, something so depressing like that is written by someone with deeper personal issues and who just simply but the blame on CAH. Don't you think that innocent mothers and childrens who are only beginning their journey with CAH will be impacted very badly by such kind of posts? This is not healthy in their emotional well-being. That is what I'm concerned about. In the meantime, I am definitely not telling her to stay ignorant about the complications CAH may bring. That is why I encourage her to throw all her questions and doubts to her doctor. You are right that not all doctors have in-depth knowledge about CAH but in comparison to people who have no medical background who would generalize and conclude about how cruel CAH can be such as the one who wrote about the quoted statement above, I think she is better off to guided by medical professionals. Like you, I also want her to continue educating herself about CAH from doctors or support groups or this CAH board so that she may be aware and be prepared for what may come.
