I apologise if I am about to show my ignorance, but I am confused by the statement regarding the "choice" whether or not to start taking cortisol replacement? As far as I am aware, if you have CAH and therefore require cortisol replacement, it is just that, a requirement, not an option. The concept of simply leaving the matter does not avoid the consequences (well, excepting for those potentially due to over-suppression), but rather exacerbates the chances of them occurring?

I'd welcome anyone with knowledge of this to correct/confirm my thoughts, but based on what I currently know, I would strongly recommend that you take up the cortisol therapy if advised by your doctor.

Regards

Rick
