Thank you for the reply. We live in Omaha, NE. My daughter is a prader 5 and required extensive reconstruction. Dr. Poppas was truly the best choice for us. He actually is the Chief of Surgical Urology of New York Presbyterian Hospital. He was very caring toward my daughter and very supportive of my family. He not only calmed all concerns and answered all questions that we had. He was very straight forward. His team was just the same. Financially the CARES FOUNDATION will assist your family during this process. I know that you and your family are going through a lot right now, with lots of questions and many more opinions from others, but please for your daughter check out this physician, and I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Dr. Poppas was not just a physician that performed a surgery, but he is in this for the long haul. He and his staff still communicate with us and our local urologists. It is very comforting for our local doctors (since most have never even seen a child with CAH, let alone a prader 5) to be able to call this doctor with whatever questions they may have regarding her care. If something is to hard Dr. Poppas will have us come to New York. With that type of dedication to these patients, we feel finally secure with our daughter's future health care.
