Hi,

I have two SWCAH  girls and only one had the surgery and she was 15mths old and im glad it was done early she has no memory of it but is told about it she is 9yrs old now she had a vaginalplasty it took 5 hours and she recovered very quickly also she took her first steps the day after surgery in the hospital which surprised us all i think the younger the better, i would hate to have to try and explain to them at 5yrs why they were having surgery there and there more aware at that age of whats going on, some people prefer to wait some dont, our daughter was getting urinary tract infections which is what prompted them to do it early since the corrective surgery theres been no infections, they told us that she will need to have a c-section when she gives birth due to the scare tissue not dialating but lots of people these days are having them so atleast she can still have kids, but it is scary watching them going in for surgery but it was for her health good luck which ever way you go.
