Hi Chele,

A dose of 10mg Pred is fairly hefty for CAH -(depending on your size and levels). Do you know why you were put onto 10mgs, two years ago? Were your androgen levels high? Have you got copies of all your results?

Also how did you take that 10mg dose? Do you divide the 10mgs into at least two, if not three, smaller doses throughout the day eg. one dose in the morning and one in the afternoon?

What dose of Dex does the doctor want to put you on? You obviously need to have those early morning blood tests done before he makes a decision about putting you on Dex because as you say there could be other drug interactions happening with all the other things you are on which are causing the hirsutism.

I  can't help you with the drug interactions but you probably need to check carefully each medication's adverse and side effects individually, then talk to a pharmacist about when the whole lot is mixed together. S/he may not have a clue but you need to ask.

Megan
