Is your reaction to salt different?
Mar. 31st, 2008   5:14pm

Now that you've carried a SWCAH or CAH baby?

My daughter whom I did not know would be born with CAH has SWCAH. She's a happy healthy 5 yr old now.

But, I noticed when I was pregnant with her that I ate a considerable amount of salt. Salty chips, salt on food, salty food. You name it, I ate it. In great amounts.

I never used to have problems with salt. But since I've had her I've had problems like sore eyes the next day, especially if I eat something salty before bed.

If I eat something with minimal salt, such as a saltiene cracker, it makes me really thirsty and I retain a lot of water. I also get the really sore dry eyes in the morning.

All things that never happened to me before I'd had my daughter.
