Breast feeding and CAH
Apr. 14th, 2008   11:56am
I've posted this before and I haven't really got too many answers in the past.  I have SWCAH and I attempted to breastfeed.  In the beginning of it, I had a good amount of milk, thereafter it kind of went away.  I was reading something in this medical book that I have about the Glandular tissue, which contains the milk glands or lobules.  They develop in response to hormones from the ovaries during puberty.  My question is, could it be that CAH can cause you to not have a full development there during puberty if you are not under a good suppression or even if you are over suppressed?  Would this then cause you to have a rougher time breastfeeding?  I guess I am just at odds to why my mother was so good with breastfeeding and I was unfortunate.  I attempted all kinds of things and I just was not very good with my milk supply.  Thank you for any of your responses.
Liz
