My eleven year old daughter was just put under last week to check to see if there was any physical explanation of her frequent UTIs. Dr. Rink also checked her vaginal opening to see if it would need to be widened before puberty. He found the vaginal opening still open enough for menstruation, which is a relief! He did say she may have a difficult time using tampons, and that is something she may need to work with for awhile. I think every case is different, so I would just ask a lot of questions.
