I will not contradict a medical opinion, but it may be worth seeking a second one. The phrase "the proof of the pudding is in the eating" is fairly applicable - it's the results that matter. For my size I am on a very high dose of hydrocortisone, so the other extreme - not everyone fits into the average.
Resist the urge to take action yourself, if you are unhappy, then seek a second opinion. I presume you are American, in which case you may want to consult with Kelly Leight at CARES (www.caresfoundation.org) for recommendations of CAH specialists.
