Hi Kimberly, that's my sister's name so I like you already! I know exactly what you're feeling as all the mothers do on here. It's hard to forget the way you felt in the beginning, so overwhelmed and paranoid about everything. I quit my job and didn't take my daughter out at all (except to Dr) for the first 5 months. I was so stressed out about her getting sick for the first time and when she did, I rushed her to the ER. Yea, I was kinda crazy at first and it wasn't necessary because everything turned out ok and they will with your precious one too. You don't have to stress dose if she gets the common cold or stomach ache or such. But if she gets the flu or an infection and runs a fever, you do have to stress dose until the fever subsides. It isn't as bad or scary as it seems. She will get used to taking the meds and you get used to giving them, and it will be as normal as drinking water after awhile.
Surgery is every parent's nightmare, but it will turn out just fine. I thought my little girl was going to be in sooo much pain and cry for days and it was going to be just awful. But you what? It wasn't at all. She was definitely uncomfortable when she woke up from surgery and she is obviously going to be sore. Just be gentle wiping her and keep her clean and babies heal so fast. They sent me home with Tylenol with Codeine for her and I only needed to use it every once in while for like a day or two and then she seemed pretty good without it and was back to herself in like week. They will make sure she is comfortable and well taken care of when the time comes, so don't worry. Let us all know when the time is getting close and we will be praying for her.
Keep in touch and you will be on my mind! Take care & God Bless! Autumn.
