My 13 month old daughter is on .05mg of Florinef per day. I give it to her in the morning and it works just fine. She had been on 2 mg/day until she was 6 months old. As a result, her potassium level was too low and she had elevated blood pressure. Although Florinef is known to cause high blood pressure, her doctors did not check it. She was admitted to the hospital with a blood pressure of 180! I say this so that moms know to make sure their CAH child's blood pressure is monitored when on Florinef. If I had known of this side effect, I would have been sure that her doctors were checking her blood pressure regularly.
