re: re: Adult male with CAH Apr. 18th, 2008 10:23am
Hello Eric, Yes it does seem like we are the veterans of this disease and I am very pleased to be able to finally communicate with a male with CAH. I have always had an interest in what this condition deals out. It has only been the last few years that I really began to question the intricate aspects of CAH and especially the treatment that was given to me during my youth and how that inexperienced treatment may have resulted in some of my current concerns. I still have not fully understood the over /undersurpressed issue. When my endo tells me that I am out of whack then we just do what we have to do. I can always tell when my chemistry is just not right. And yes you just deal with it and thank God for each day that your healthy. I just e-mailed my endo and said I will go through with the dexamethasone dosage. This I understand is quite potent. It took me about a year to really get used to the prednisone. Some not so good things happened during the adjustment. I am just lowering my dosage from 20 MG a day, from having a nasty head cold for a week plus. I do like the good feeling you get when dosage increases.
Eric and anyone else that would like to correspond with me, feel free to e-mail me at ready2go@earthlink.net (this is my business address and only I read the e-mails sent). My heart goes out to all you parents that are dealing with your children with CAH and also the young kids and young adults that have taken interest in what you have in CAH. It is tuff sometime but here are two "old timers" that are doing what it takes. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcomed.
