re: Adult female with CAH
Apr. 18th, 2008   10:30pm

Mike, I am 48 also. Not a salt loser - but have been through several crises through the years. There are others on this board that are in their 50's.

I feel the best I have felt in my adult life now - as well. I'm working full-time as a teacher and earning a Masters of Science in Geoscience at the same time. I am active - I go to the gym 3 times a week and love to hike.

I try not to whine and complain about my life (I got one of those "a complaint free world" bracelets to wear - and believe me - after wearing it for about six months -that got me off of complaining). Life is good... it truly is what you make of it.

I was able to have one child (when I was 27) - but never got pregnant again. My daughter will be 21 this June.

I am on dexamethasone (the elixir - easier to titrate) and have been on Dex for 29 years. I am 5'2" and weigh between 120 and 130 pounds. Yes - I think the Dex puts maybe a little weight on me - but when I lower my dose much... my memory seems to suffer. I am currently taking a little less than .5 mg per day.

Anyway - Welcome! You will find this board very interesting... I have been coming here for about nine years now.

Susan
