We just recently were approved for growth hormones. All of the doctors that I ever mentioned it to had said we would probably never get them covered by insurance. I decided it was worth a try. I had to appeal it 3 times before they finally said yes. You can also contact the drug company (in our case it was Genentech) and they have a special division that helps you with the process of working with your insurance company. At Genentech this group is called Access Care.
