My mother is bi-polar. The child must come first. I actually wish we were removed from the house when I was young. Unless the bi-polar person takes his or her meds and WANTS to be well, they can be quite incompetent, regardless of their other good qualities. I have CAH kids, and they need their meds every day and get regualr bloodwork every three to six months, depending on age and prior blood levels. I agree, report this situation to Child Protective Services, and explain that the child has a potentially serious medical condition, that can result in death is not promptly and properly treated.
