re: re: Prenatal Diagnosis of CAH
May. 5th, 2008   6:29pm
Hi,  I have a 6mo daughter with SWCAH. When I was pregnant with her, we had an amnio - the doctors thought she might have a chromosonal disorder- and it came back fine, and they said that we were having a girl. When my daughter was born, the doctors still insisted on doing another test to determine her sex, despite the amnio and the fact that to me she looked like a girl, just with a larger clitoris, like they didnt believe the results of the amnio! For me having an amnio was a seriously scarry thing( My sister in law lost her son at 17 weeks, due to having an amnio) and it didnt pick up on her CAH anyway. Good on you for questioning what the doctors are saying and definately get a second or third opionion. Good luck on your upcoming new arrival!
lisa
