Thinking of having another baby/questions. May. 6th, 2008 9:07am
My husband and I currently have a 22 month old daughter with SWCAH. We have recently been thinking about trying for another. I keep going back and forth as to when and if I would like another. I know I do, it is just scary to me. I was wondering if you all could give me some advice as to what you did when you got pregnant, what was different from the first pregnancy such as taking dex and so on? Do I need to meet with a high risk Dr before I try? Or just see my regular OB and go from there? I have talked to my regular OB and he has told me as soon as I become pregnant to get with him so I can get started on the Dex. I guess I just have other questions like, when do they do the amnio or how early if you choose to do one. What is the CVS (chorionic villus sampling) and how early would that be done? What is your past experiences with all of this? I am just trying to educate myself so we know what to expect and what we need to do before trying. I know every pregnancy and doctor is different but also if they do find out the baby would have CAH, did they have to fly your baby to the hospital or start the treatment right then? Our current Endo is 4 to 5 hours away. So I just wondered how they would handle it right after birth? Thank you all in advance :)
