Hi. My CAH son and non-CAH daughter had the chicken pox when they were 5 and 7 years respectively. We exposed them on purpose to playmates who had chickenpox as we preferred to have them create their own life long immunity rather than the potentially short-lived immunity from the vaccine. My daughter contracted the chicken pox from the playmates and had a fair bit of discomfort. My son got the blisters two weeks later from his sister and sailed through it. Although he had lots of "pox", he had little discomfort and did not need any stress dosing. Hope this helps.
