diagnosing cah w/ ultrasound?
May. 10th, 2008   9:07am
I've hesitated to tell anyone I'm pregnant for fear of being judged.  One, because this will be my fourth child and second because one of my children has cah.  I just recently told friends because my stomach won't let me hide it anymore.  Usually, I feel comfortable to share here, but again, I felt fear of judgement because I chose surgery for my daughter.  Those that want to, judge away.  I want to know if cah canbe diagnosed with a level 2 ultrasound.  I am scheduled for one in 10 days.  The doctor is hoping to check the genitals.  Would the adrenals be enlarged?  Should I tell them to check that?  I opted against dex because its a 1 out of 8 chance of having a swcah female.  Its a gamble.  I did not do cvs or amnio for fear of complications, so this ultrasound is all I got.  Is it a waste of time?  Any one else get a diagnosis with ultrasound?  Thank you to any response in advance.
