Question for those using 24 hour urinalysis for monitoring CAH May. 27th, 2008 9:46pm
Do those of you who monitor using this method still do blood draws to test 17OHP, Androstendione and Plasma Renin, or does your Endo rely solely on the results of the 24 HR UA for ongoing monitoring?
We have a 5 year old SWCAH son, who was recently diagnosed with Autism. As you can imagine, this combination of conditions makes blood draws very very difficult. I talked with his Endo about using 24 HR UA, and he's willing to research it with us, but I was just wondering about the other routine tests. I'm not sure that the results that would be obtained from a 24 hour urine collection would give our Endo enough to go by.
