I am so sorry to hear about you son. I hope he is on the mend. Was it the 24 hour kind? Poor kid.
I hate when they are clueless too but to try and prevent that kind of conversation I have my endocrinologist call the ER ahead of time to tell them a patient is coming in with this disease, AND I hand them my outlined letter explaining what CAH is and how to treat it with phone numbers to her endo., and the current medications she is taking with the dosages. I hate talking to them so this does the talking for me. Sometime I will get a curious, "How did you find out", and the worst question that just annoys me and I don't know why is, "So is this something she will out grow." It isn't a horrible question but for some reason it goes right through me.
