I don't quite understand the reasoning the doctors gave you Laura!
The epi-pen used traditionally for anaphylaxis in severe allergic reactions does get injected into thigh muscle -(not into veins). This is the way that solucortef can be given also in emergencies, therefore not sure why this type of pen cannot be adapted for solucortef use.
I realise that the dosage could be very different than epinephrine/adrenaline and maybe the holding capacity for dosage of solu cortef in an epi-pen is inadequate and other possible functional problems. Maybe others here have investigated this further!
