My dd is 3yo and is only on 8mg a day. I've never been given a pill other than the 5 & 10 mg's, I didn't know they came in that large of a dose either! I'm with the others, try and find a smaller pill. I don't cut & crush pills, I think it's a pain...instead, we put the pill in an oral syringe and add water. I use 10mL syringes, so I'll add 10mg of med's and then 10mL of water, and then I can give the exact dose of 4mg/2/2. This works perfect when I give her the late night dose. I just put it in her mouth and she swallows it, never wakes up or even puts up a fuss. It's so much easier than actualy waking her to swallow a pill and drink water. I never wake her up to give her the morning dose, just give it as soon as she wakes up, but that's normally between 7-8. If she was one that slept in til 9-10, I would definitely give it to her sooner than that.
