She is 5 years old, but small. It was before the heat wave, and she wasn't really dehydrated.  Her endo said it can be caused by missing medication or being very active while not eating enough or having enough in storage. The doctors said they didn't know why it happened. My in-laws were watching her, so I'm not sure if she were more active than usual, but they said she ate well for dinner and hadn't missed a dose. She slept in (which she does all the time, and we've never had a problem).  I think she must have been more active than usual and it was quite a stretch between dinner and breakfast or taking her morning dose (12+ hours). Now that I think of it, she does tend to snack right before bed with us...  I never really thought of her NEEDING to have that snack, but maybe she does.

Her endo said to  give her medicine by 8am, then let her go back to sleep if she wants, so that's what we've been doing since she got home, and it seems to be working.
