re: re: child not walking- any Advice??
Jun. 11th, 2008   7:41pm
My DD is 19.5 months old and is finally walking around on her own (although not in BIG spaces - then she still wants to hold a hand). She didn't take her first step on her own until about two+ months ago (17 months old or so) but her progress was pretty fast after that step. We were so surprised she took so long - when she was just born she seemed so strong and we thought she'd do everything early! She is also little for her age - she's 31" and weighs about 19.5 lbs. She didn't grow much for about 5 months last year - she was a bit oversuppressed. My theory is that some of these kids walk so late because they get a bit oversuppressed and then their skeletal development is behind, and they won't walk until their little bodies are ready!
