re: child not walking- any Advice??
Jun. 12th, 2008   1:15pm
Michelle, I don't think the not walking situation has anything to do with the CAH.  All children just develop at different times. Both of my kids have CAH and my first born didn't walk until 15 or 16 months and my 2nd was already walking by his 1st birthday. Your little girl is tiny, but my almost 3 year old girl still wears 18 months. She was very short at your daughter's age and 19-20 lbs but she seems to be close to the same height and weight as her peers right now.  I know with CAH they typically grow fast and are usually taller that their peers and then turn out to be short adults, but maybe her dosage is too high and it is oversuppressing her growth.  It seems like I hear alot of mothers on here saying their child is short though instead of tall. Well, good luck with the growth and try not to worry too much and just discuss all your concerns with her endo to see what can be done. But the walking situation is normal as far as I understand. Take care and God bless.
Autumn
