re: Blood work levels

First, congratulations on the birth of your son!!

Things may seem crazy now, but they will improve.  My SWCAH son is 16 weeks old and it took about 10-12 weeks for his OHP-17 to go from 17,000 to 1,000.  It just takes time.

The best measure of whether the treatment is working at this stage is to evaluate his height and weight on a curve related to his birth weight.  If he is growing and still on the "curve" then you need not worry (easier said than done!).

What has helped my family the most is we make a 3-ring binder/notebook that we wrote every question we could think of into and then added the answers as we received them.  We also recorded my son's feedings, amount, med dosages, and any other significant findings per day for the first 4 months.  I also put copies of the labs in this book, so that I could compare them at each visit and ask questions.

Hope this helps!!
