I should have said cp is a disorder of the nervous system and I said neuological, which I know can scare parents. I wanted to also let you know that my little sister is 7 and her school work is at a fourth/fifth grade level and she is only in second grade. She truley is amazing and the early inervention plus my parents working with her at home has made a huge difference. Also it was very obvious to my parents that something was wrong with my sister even at 4 months because they had 3 other children and her left side hung kind of floppy and they knew something was wrong.
While I am not a doctor, between my schooling and my job as a disability case manager and my sister I have a good understanding of cp.
If it turns out that your child does have cp, know that it can be treatable with early inervention and that there are many support services for families that can help.
