Sarah, I have been in your shoes!! My daughter is 2 years old and to our knowledge no one on either side of the family has this condition. I can tell you that, as a mother, you will know when Hope is sick. You'll be able to tell because she'll be different, and not "normal" I can also tell you the first time she does get sick, you will panic and you will be scared, but you will do what you have to because you're her mom :-)
I can also assure you that as long as you have regular endo. visits, give her medications as prescribed and just do the best you can, Hope will grow up just as strong (if not stronger!) than other kids.
