Just finished reading CAH A Parents' Guide Jun. 26th, 2008 8:54pm
My son is 7 months old and was diagnosed immediately for CAH. He has been on hydrocortisone oral medication since he was 4 weeks old. He takes 1mL 3 times a day. He's doing fine, only one emergency room visit.
I just finished reading CAH A Parents' Guide and just learned that dexamethasone treatments in early pregnancy does not prevent the baby from having CAH. It only prevents the masculinization of the girls. I was devistated because I thought the dexamethasone prevented the baby from having CAH. I feel stupid.
If anyone out there has decided to have a second baby please let me know how you came to that decision. I don't want my child to be an only child. I've always wanted two children. What are your thoughts on having second and third children???
