re: Just finished reading CAH A Parents' Guide
Jun. 27th, 2008   10:10am
My son is 20 mnths old and has swcah, when he was one we had genetic counseling, and recently had his screening done.  About 1  mnths ago when found out we were pregnant with out 2nd child.  At first it was a little scary even though we planned this out, but now I am really excited.  I just had a cvs done (at 10 weeks)yesterday and will find out today if I am having a boy or girl, and then in 2 weeks I will find out if the baby has CAH, or is a carrier.  I have been on the dex for 1  mnth now and I don't seem to be having any side affects.  Don't let the fact that your son has CAH affect if you want more children. The way we decided to have more children was the fact that now we are informed about CAH, and we have a great support system within out family.  I hope this helped you out a little.
Sam
