I'm not a mommy although I'd like to think that one day I'd make a decent step-mother or foster mother which I've wanted to do since I was 26 but I'm glad that you understood where I was coming from.
My thing was live life but always have it in the back of your mind what may or most likely may not happen in any senerio. When I was a kid, I got to ride this big horse and I bet that other people must of went what the heck but one just has to live.
The earrings thing might become a happy bond/memory for you and the kid. I've been thinking of hello kitty earrings here. If you kid doesn't relate to earring later on in life then your kid doesn't half to wear them.
I wrote also because with having CAH - things that other people can fight off like minor infections have put me in the hospital and while in the hospital for cah itself I also couldn't fight off the things that I then picked up in the hospital. But each with CAH is different.
