re: I'm going through the same thing - and I have some more questions too
Jun. 28th, 2008   4:07pm
Hi Sarah! My husband and I are going through the same thing. My first child was born with swcah and is now 16 months old. I was so scared about having another child. We went for genetic counseling and I'm pretty sure we are going to try and have another child. CAH is not a debilitating disease I figured. I want my daughter to have a sibling as well. I do suggest seeing a specialist to talk about treatment while you are pregnant and testing etc.
I did have some more questions though. I am worried about the testing for CAH (CVS or amnio) because they both have a risk of miscarriage. I just had a miscarriage so I am especially worried about that. Has anyone gone through these tests? Any advice on that? Thanks.
Sarah - best of luck to you and your family. I suggest seeing a specialist and pray about it. If you want to have another child then so be it. If you are too worried about it you could always look into adoption as well.
God Bless!
Erin
