I have SWCAH...and my older brother has thallassemia trait (alpha)....he doesn't have the full blown thing - just a carrier who is anemic...But so am I...I have a different gp to him, and he can't be bothered to test for it. So as far as he is concerned I am just anemic. I'm a med student though, and as cocky as I may sound, my recent blood test results indicate that it is likely that I am - but I won't let my gp know!!!
I'm not sure if there is a link between CAH and it though - I do however know that there is a link between thallassemia and a meditterainian background (mine is spain)....
