cannot get the potassium down Aug. 7th, 2008 7:58pm
Hi. i have a 3 wk old son who was diagnosed with CAH and have been sturggling to get the potassium under control. Upon diagnosis, we spent a few days in the ICU and got it under control and it was stable. Over last 5-6 days, it has continued to increase despite quadrupling the dose. We are otherwise doing nothing new - the endocrinooligist does seem to have the answer except to incease florinef and we are already at 4 times the usual maximum dose. Does anyone out ther have any experience with this?? We have thought abotu it and diet has not changed - we have even stopped using lanolin in case it has some K in it. Please share any thoughts.
