We stress dose for three days. If it's a triple oral dose, my daughter is back to normal pretty much as soon as whatever she had to stress dose for is over.
I've found that when she has to get the mega dose IV for vomiting, that it lowers her immunities, so that she catches secondary illnesses like strep and mono.
So, when we have to go to the ER for vomiting, I take her out of school for a few weeks to avoid all of the bugs that she can't fight.
I applied for and was granted the 504 federal umbrella protection to help me keep her up in school.
