I was told by my pediatrician that the odds of getting say, mumps, measles, and whatever they immunize for, outweighs the threat of getting autism. From what I hear, the idea of getting autism through immunization is still a speculation. So far they are saying there isn't enough evidence. I would assume they would try and find out why all of a sudden the same immunizations that we all got when we were babies, didn't cause autism like it is now. DId they change the immunization formual through the years? I wonder if it causing only certain children to have autism for a reason they still have not uncovered. My worry is that if everyone stops getting these immunizations, we are going to have a horrible outbreak of these diseases that has been almost extinct until now. I can't imagine worrying about small pox or polio. It is a hard call really. I mean who wants their child having autism either? I just hope they get to the bottom of all this and soon. I think the government and medical field have blown the autism community off for so long and now the number of autistic children cannot be denied.
Honestly, if given the choice again to have the immunization or not to (ESPECIALLY with a child with CAH) I would choose the immunization. It may be a gamble, but one I would rather take.
